A modern homage to Italian-American cuisine, featuring tender ground beef in a rich, homemade sloppy joe sauce infused with savory Italian spices.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 lb ground beef
1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato paste
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
4 buns, toasted
½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat your Blackstone griddle to medium heat, around 350°F. Allow it to heat up for about 5 minutes.
Add the olive oil to the griddle. Once hot, add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula until browned and fully cooked.
Add the minced garlic to the beef and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let the sauce simmer on the griddle for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
While the sauce simmers, toast the buns on the griddle until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
Once the sauce has thickened, remove it from the heat. Spoon the mixture onto the toasted buns and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
