This recipe for sticky honey garlic ribs is not just about the flavors; it's a blend of cherished family traditions and a deep appreciation for Asian-inspired cuisine.
Ingredients
Scale:
Pork Ribs (baby back or spare ribs) - 2-3 pounds
Honey - 1/2 cup
Soy Sauce - 1/4 cup
Garlic (minced) - 4-5 cloves
Rice Vinegar - 2 tablespoons
Sesame Oil - 1 tablespoon
Ground Ginger - 1 teaspoon
Black Pepper - 1 teaspoon
Green Onions (for garnish) - 2, sliced
Sesame Seeds (optional) - 1 tablespoon
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
In a bowl, mix together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
Place the ribs in a large resealable plastic bag or dish and pour the marinade over the ribs. Make sure they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Remove the ribs from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, meat side up.
Bake the ribs for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until they are tender and the meat pulls away from the bone easily.
While the ribs are baking, transfer the reserved marinade to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
Once the ribs are done, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Brush the ribs generously with the sticky rib glaze.
Grill the ribs for 5-7 minutes on each side, basting with additional glaze, until they are caramelized and slightly charred.
Remove the ribs from the grill and allow them to rest for 5-10 minutes.
Slice the ribs, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if using, then serve hot.
