Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill for medium heat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped fresh pineapple, olive oil, salt, and brown sugar. Toss until the pineapple is well coated.
  3. If using a baking sheet, line it with parchment paper. Spread the pineapple evenly on the sheet and roast in the oven for about 20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until caramelized and golden brown.
  4. While the pineapple is roasting, place the little smokies in a slow cooker or on the grill. If using a slow cooker, add the habanero sauce and pineapple juice directly to the smokies and mix well.
  5. Cook the little smokies in the slow cooker on low for 2-3 hours or grill them on medium heat, turning occasionally until heated through and slightly charred, about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Once the pineapple is roasted and the smokies are cooked, combine them in a serving bowl. Mix well to ensure the smokies are coated in the sweet and spicy pineapple mixture.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy the delightful blend of flavors!
