Description
A warm, custardy slice of bread pudding, infused with cinnamon and dotted with plump raisins, topped with a drizzle of creamy vanilla sauce.
Ingredients
Scale:
- 6 cups stale bread (French or Italian, cubed)
- 2 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup raisins
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cubed stale bread and raisins, ensuring the bread is evenly distributed.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the milk mixture over the bread and raisins. Gently press down on the bread to ensure it absorbs the liquid. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with warm vanilla sauce for an extra touch of indulgence.
